Lute made by Dimitrios Mourtzinos, 995 mm in length. It has 8 mechanical keys with round heads made of bone and an equal number of metal strings divided into 4 groups (2+2+2+2). The 2 bottom strings are plain, while the other pairs combine one plain and one wound string. The body consists of 27 ribs and two side ribs, probably made of ebony and maple (kelebeki). The instrument has: a bone bridge, an ebony fingerboard with 11 berdes, 2 inlaid disc-shaped finger placement guides made of shell (one in the form of a flower), simple and mosaic wooden bindings, 8 straws with "buttons" at both ends, a round sound hole with a rosette painted black, a plastic pickguard (celluloid) and a fixed wooden saddle. The neck is lined with ribs, and the headstock (karaolo) is painted black. The perimeter of the sound hole is decorated with bindings and inlaid vegetal elements made of shell. At the base of the top of its body, a piece of leather is glued to protect the wood from contact with the player's hand. The top of the instrument is decorated with a sculpted lioness head. Inside the body, there is a printed paper label in the shape of a lyra, reading: “ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΣ ΜΟΥΡΤΖΙΝΟΣ / D. Mourtzinos / ATHENES / Rue Kolokotroni 67 / 190… / ΕΝ ΑΘΗΝΑΙΣ / Οδός Κολοκοτρώνη 67”. The label also features vegetal designs, as well as designs of medals and musical instruments.
