Mandola made by Ioannis Gompakis, with a string length of 518 mm. It has 8 mechanical keys with plastic round heads and an equal number of metal strings divided into 4 groups (2+2+2+2). The 2 thinner strings are plain, while the rest are wound. Its body consists of 19 ribs and 2 side ribs. The instrument has: a bridge made of a fret with a bone guide, an ebony fingerboard with 20 frets played with the fingers and 4 inlaid disc-shaped finger placement guides made of shell, plain and mosaic wooden bindings, an ellipsoidal sound hole, a plastic pickguard (made of celluloid) in tortoise shell imitation, a wooden saddle with a fret on top and a metal string holder with 4 heads. The neck and the headstock are lined with rosewood veneer. On the bottom of the body, the following inscription is written with pyrography: “Ι. ΓΟΜΠΑΚΗΣ / ΑΘΗΝΑΙ” and, on the inside, there is a printed paper label of the manufacturer, with the corrected address of his workshop: “ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΗ / ΙΩΑΝΝΟΥ Γ. ΓΟΜΠΑΚΗ / ΛΙΜΠΟΝΑ / ΑΘΗΝΑΙ”.
