It has a violin-type headstock which ends in an sculpted scroll, 4 metal tuning mechanisms, a wooden bridge and a plastic fingerboard. It has two “D”-shaped sound holes on the top of its body. At the bottom, the strings are threaded through a bone string holder, which can be adjusted with a cord made of intestine to a protrusion of the body. The sound post and the saddle are missing. The perimeter of the top and the sound holes are decorated with inlaid white plastic and mosaic wooden bindings. The top of the body consists of two pieces of wood, with the patterns of the grain of the wood placed opposite each other. The fingerboard is covered with black plastic surrounded by white strips, which reach up to the scroll. The back of the instrument is decorated with the champlevé design of a bird. On the inside of the body, there is a handwritten paper label that reads: “Κατασκεβή / Φραγκ[ής] Χριστοδουλάκη / 1969 / 9913[188]”.
