Darabukka
Clay darabukka, 430 mm in length. It has two skin membranes, one at the top and one at the bottom. The membranes are attached to the perimeter of the instrument with hoops connected by a rope, which creates a grid on the outside of the instrument. This elaborate binding not only stabilises the membranes, but also regulates their tension. The membrane at the bottom of the instrument is decorated with painted rosettes and geometric patterns. Similar patterns can be seen faintly on the large membrane. The clay body of the instrument is decorated with scattered coloured areas with "spills".
