Wooden Indian tabla, consisting of two drums. One is cylinder-shaped and the other is round. They have a skin membrane at the top, which is attached to a hoop, which is connected by leather straps to a second hoop at the bottom of the instrument. This binding stabilises the membrane and allows the user to adjust its tension by wedging wooden cylinders under the straps.
