Mandolin made by Dimitrios Mourtzinos, with a string length of 332 mm. It has 8 mechanical keys with plastic round heads and an equal number of metal strings divided into 4 pairs (2+2+2+2). The 4 thinner strings are plain, while the rest are wound. Its body is made of maple (kelebeki) and consists of 19 ribs and 2 side ribs. The instrument has: a wooden bridge, an ebony fingerboard with 26 frets and 6 inlaid disc-shaped finger placement guides made of shell, plain wooden bindings, an ellipsoidal sound hole, a plastic pickguard (made of celluloid) in tortoise shell imitation, a wooden saddle with bone on top and a metal string holder with 4 heads. Inside the body, there is a printed paper label in the shape of a lyra, reading: “ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΣ ΜΟΥΡΤΖΙΝΟΣ / D. Mourtzinos / ATHENES / Rue Kolokotroni 67 / 190… / ΕΝ ΑΘΗΝΑΙΣ / Οδός Κολοκοτρώνη 67”. The label also features vegetal designs, as well as designs of medals and musical instruments.
