Cretan lyra, made by Emmanouil Stagakis, 534 mm in length, with 3 metal strings. It has a violin-type headstock which ends in an sculpted scroll, 4 metal tuning mechanisms, a bridge, a fingerboard, a saddle and a sound post. It has two “D”-shaped sound holes on the top of its body. At the bottom, the strings are threaded through a wooden string holder, which can be adjusted to a protrusion of the body. The perimeter of the top and the sound holes are decorated with wooden mosaic and white plastic bindings. The top of the body consists of two pieces of wood, with the patterns of the grain of the wood placed opposite each other. The fingerboard is covered in black plastic surrounded by red and white strips, and two plastic strips in imitation marble run through the headstock. The back of the instrument is decorated with the champlevé design of a bird. On the inside of the body, there is a paper label glued that reads: “ΟΡΓΑΝΟΠΟΙΕΙΟΝ / ΕΜΜ. ΔΙΟΝ. ΣΤΑΓΑΚΗ / ΡΕΘΥΜΝΟΝ – ΚΡΗΤΗΣ / ΑΡΙΘ. ΤΗΛ. 28.803”. The instrument is accompanied by a violin-type bow with 24 round bells.
